Hello and welcome to the website of Valhalla Subsea LLC. My name is Joel Albertson and here you will find some of my images from both under and above the water.
Without a doubt, few things, to me, are as intriguing and challenging as changing our reality by stepping into another world and returning with a perspective which is both appealing artistically and emotionally, yet provides the viewer with the ability to connect to themselves and the realization of something greater or perhaps even smaller. I sincerely hope you are able to connect with at least one of these photos and it reminds you of carefree days of being happy and looking at the world through the eyes of a child when everything contained that glow of mystery and the promise of just another glimpse a nature. Our planet and life never cease to amaze me and that magic is a constant reminder of how lucky we are to be here and how immense and impressive is creation. These are my efforts to bring some of that magic to you.
There are two main philosophies maintained here, at least in the realm of photo development. The first being no alterations of the photos by cropping and the absolute minimum usage of Lightroom, only what is available in a darkroom. The second is the introduction of cropping as too many images were discarded which deserved a different perspective. All photos are available for purchase at any size and any medium.
